Lily + Sam – Mt. Hood Skibowl Wedding

September 7, 2011

It’s no secret that we love shooting weddings at Mt. Hood. There are some amazingly beautiful wedding venues in the area.  Plus where else can you get married in mid-summer & go skiing in the morning!? (or hiking, golfing, windsurfing, etc…) Lily & Sam’s wedding was held at Mt. Hood Skibowl, and was a perfect venue for this fun easy-going couple. In addition to enjoying an incredible view of the mountains, guests got to choose between taking  the chair-lift or the alpine-slide (think concrete luge) from the ceremony site to the reception! (Hiking the ski resort’s trails or catching the shuttle van were also an option.)
Lily & Sam had an amazing team of vendors, and some of our favorites! Nadia with Creations by Ly did the planning, and Mr. Travis Shields artfully captured the day on video.  DJ Gray Matter kept the party rocking with a tightly-curated and endless selection of  tunes that you can’t help but dance to.
One of the best surprises for us was the location they chose for their preparations. They rented the modernist-yet-rustic Mule Deer Cabin in Government Camp as a home-base for their wedding party for the weekend.  It was photographer’s dream with great light, gorgeous furniture, and tons of thoughtful design details. Seriously, if you are considering a getaway on Mt. Hood at any time of the year, check out the Mule Deer!
