Erin + Brian / Bandon, Oregon Wedding

July 11, 2012

The latest issue of Oregon Bride Magazine has just been released, and we’re excited to have Erin & Brian’s wedding featured there!  This Southern Oregon Coast wedding was truly unique–3 days of fun, relaxation, & celebration.  Although they’re from Portland (and also, lucky for us, happen to be our neighbors), Erin’s family has deep roots in Bandon, OR, so the spot made perfect sense for an intimate wedding weekend focused on their closest friends and family.  Brian is also an avid (and impressive) golfer, and the close access to world-class courses nearby also helped sway their decision.
Kick-off for the weekend festivities started with a karaoke night at a local bar, where Erin & her talented friends let loose on some classic 80’s duets.  Honestly, the vocal talent present had all the local heads turning. Erin has been singing in Portland bands, most notably with the Stolen Sweets, for the past decade and many of their guests are accomplished musicians.  Needless to say, they rocked the house.  The next day, after guests spent the morning and afternoon beachcombing, kite-flying, or hitting the links, the parents of the bride hosted a crab-feed dinner for everyone, complete with an FS Photobooth (nautically themed, of couse).
The wedding ceremony on the third and final day was held at Bullards Beach State Park, just across the bay from Bandon, within view of the area’s historic lighthouse. A chorus of kazoos humming “here comes the bride” led the way while Erin and her father walked down the isle, guests sipped champagne, and the couple said their vows under a driftwood “fort” built by some ambitious-yet-anonymous beach-goers.  Their attire–a 60’s era dress & three-piece-suit–was completely vintage and found by the bride. If you like their look, be sure to check out Erin’s carefully curated collection of vintage dresses & accessories at her shop, Lodekka, in Portland.  After a laid-back dinner reception downtown, most of the party moved on to a beach-house for a sunset bonfire and acoustic sing-a-long to close out the evening. By the end of the weekend, many new friendships were formed and everyone was honored that they were able to spend the time celebrating Erin & Brian. Thanks for having us there to document it!
